What else a platform needs
Floats alone give you a floating surface — depending on use it is called a swim island, floating island or floating platform. Three things usually turn it into a swim platform: a swim ladder to get back out of the water, a railing with rope on at least one side, and anchoring so the platform stays where you put it.
There are two anchoring routes. In shallow water with firm ground you use a driven pile and a pile guide — the platform slides up and down and cannot drift. In deeper water a ground anchor with an anchor bracket does the job.
Everything is held together by coupling pins and bolts; assembly needs nothing more than a rubber mallet and pin spanner. Two people put a 3 × 3 metre platform together in a good hour.
Assembled in four steps
Two people assemble a 3 × 3 metre platform in about an hour and a half. Mallet and pin spanner are included.

Frequently asked questions
A floating swim platform costs around €230 net per square metre, complete with connecting hardware. A 3 × 3 metre platform costs €2,087.50 net: 36 floats at €47.50 each, plus 25 coupling pins, 20 bolt-and-nut sets and 5 spacer rings. Ladder, railing and anchoring are added according to your specification.
A 3 × 3 metre platform consists of 36 floats and carries roughly 3.6 tonnes on paper. In practice comfort limits you before buoyancy does: six to eight people fit comfortably on nine square metres before the platform starts to feel lively.
In up to three metres of water with firm ground, use a driven pile and a pile guide that lets the platform slide up and down. In deeper water or soft ground, a 40 kg ground anchor with anchor bracket and chain does the job. We supply both.
Yes. HDPE is frost resistant and absorbs no water, so ice does not damage the floats. Where ice moves with current or wind we still recommend pulling the platform ashore — not for the material's sake but because of the load on anchoring and coupling pins.
In Germany, usually yes. Floating structures normally require a water law permit from the responsible water authority, and on federal waterways an additional navigation permit. Requirements differ by federal state and by body of water — clarify this with your local authority before buying.
